Pink Vintage Glass Beads

Fabulous glass lamp work beads that are clear glass with pink and copper bands swirling through out. They were made in Murano, Italy in a design called sommerso, which means "submerged". The glittery copper and soft pink colors are submerged in a clear glass. The gold or copper flecks are called aventurine, it is a type of glass, based on the original Italian name aventurina The effect is gorgeous. See view A, B. Package of 2.

This is a strand of 20 Antique Pink Prosser glass beads. Prosser beads were made in a hydraulic press that compressed a cold, moist mixture of finely pulverized materials into cast-iron molds and formed beads ceramic-like finish. They are in a lovely dark pink color. They are made in two part molds, so there is a flat ring around the center. These beads were traded to Africa and show some signs of wear and pitting, which adds to their beauty and story. See view A, B. Circa 1900's

Large pink lamp work glass pendant bead that is left over from Miriam Haskell's stock. It looks like the glass was wound around the bead in interesting patterns, we love the texture.
