VINTAGE SWAROVSKIŽ CRYSTALS

Swarovski crystals components

Swarovski Austrian crystals are unmatched in their quality and elegance. This is the result of their perfect cuts and special polishing which brings out unparalleled brilliance. They are known around the world as the finest full-lead crystals, so if you want your jewelry to be its finest ~ we recommend that you always select Swarovski!

Estate Beads has an extensive collection of vintage crystal beads, and we have listed them by article number, color, and size. These crystals are straight out of their original boxes and are in unused condition.  Over thirty years ago Swarovski switched their numbering process from 2 or 3 digits to 4 digits. Therefore; the article numbers with 2 or 3 digits are the oldest and are a little more expensive.  Please realize all of the items are in limited quantities and there is no guarantee of availability. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Enjoy!

Effects/Coatings

Descriptions

Aurora Borealis (AB)

Transparent rainbow finish or coating that Swarovski invented in 1955. It is on 1/2 of the bead.

Aurum

It is a gold coating on the bead, can be 1X or 2X.

Bermuda Blue

It is a deep blue foil coating normally used on crystal only; on 1/2 of the bead.

Comet Argent Light (CAL)

Bright silvery opaque coating (looks like silver foil).

Cosmo Jet

Part of stone is blacked out

Dorado

This a new finish; it is an opaque bronze coating (You know ones with this finish are not really vintage!)

Heliotrope

This finish has a deep purple and deep green appearance when seen through the crystal

Hematite

It is called Hematite on certain colors and satin on others. It is characteristic for the extra sheen it gives to the beads. Hematite 2x is common on colors today.

Satin

This finish is a light hematite coating that is smoky gray. It changes the color of the bead so that it appears slightly darker.

Vitrail

This coating shines in red, and green tones depending on how the light hits. They have different versions; light is just lighter in tone etc. These finishes are not normally used on colored crystal and are not transparent.

Volcano

This coating is silvery on the outside but when viewed through the crystal is multi-colored with reds, blues and purples like a volcano

1 X

Bead is coated on one side only

2 X

Bead is coated on two sides

Alexandrite

This color changes in different types of light. In fluorescent light it varies from light blue to purple. The color intensifies in sunlight to medium purple and it becomes a deep vivid purple under halogen and incandescent lights.
